Intuitive Machines is seeking an experienced Avionics Testbed Engineer with expertise in LabVIEW and FPGA to lead the development and operation of testbeds for avionics systems. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining LabVIEW-based embedded control systems (cRIO) for spacecraft and rocket engine testbeds. You will play a key role in managing complex test environments, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful execution of testing operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of avionics testbeds using LabVIEW and FPGA.
- Develop and manage embedded LabVIEW/cRIO controllers for various systems, including cryogenic rocket engines and avionics.
- Architect and implement Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations for avionics systems using C and LabVIEW.
- Collaborate closely with Avionics, Software, and Propulsion teams to meet testing needs and ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
- Train and mentor junior LabVIEW developers on software development and troubleshooting practices.
- Design and implement automated control systems and data management applications for testbeds.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in LabVIEW, including development for FPGA and embedded systems.
- Proficiency in cRIO controllers, data acquisition, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of avionics, propulsion systems, and real-time testing environments.
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in hardware-software integration.
- Familiarity with control and sense instruments such as solenoid valves, pressure transducers, and thermocouples.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional team interactions.
