JOB TITLE: Production and Site ManagerREPORTS TO: Director of ManufacturingPOSITION SUMMARYAs a Production and Site Manager, you will play a critical role in the start-up operation of our manufacturing facility In Amarillo, Texas. You will oversee all aspects of production operations ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. In addition, you will be responsible for managing the site's overall operations, including personnel, equipment, and resources. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and operational expertise will drive continuous improvement and contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime. Coordinate with business development, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products.2. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality teams, establish, monitor, and enforce quality control standards and procedures to maintain product quality and consistency. Monitor production processes, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations from quality standards.3. Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and optimize workflow.4. Personnel Management: Lead and mentor production staff, including supervisors, operators, and technicians, to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence. Provide training, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance employee skills and engagement.5. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Conduct regular safety inspections, provide safety training, and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.6. Budget Management: Develop and manage the production budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to control costs and improve profitability.7. Equipment Maintenance and Reliability: Oversee the maintenance and reliability of production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Develop preventive maintenance plans, schedule equipment inspections, and coordinate repairs as necessary to keep operations running smoothly.8. Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory control and procurement teams to maintain adequate levels of raw materials9. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and environmental regulations governing manufacturing operations. Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.10. Communication and Reporting: Communicate regularly with senior management, department heads, and cross-functional teams to provide updates on production performance, issues, and initiatives. - Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality management principles.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards applicable to manufacturing operations.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions, and subject to manufacturing related products smells and machinery noise levels.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed/required.
Salary and Benefits:Salary range: $110,000 to $130,000Benefits package includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance), 401(K) retirement savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off.
