The Group's efforts include developing software architectures and systems, bioinformatics tools, and AI algorithms to advance the state of the art in chemical and biological defense, biosecurity, and civilian and servicemember health.
Job Description
The Bioanalytics Systems and Technologies Group is seeking highly motivated summer interns to join our diverse and multidisciplinary team working on projects to develop algorithms and automated pipelines to ingest, organize, and analyze bioinformatic data. Within the Group's areas of study, summer projects can be adapted to match candidates' unique interests or skills. Interns will work closely with experts in computer science, bioinformatics, data analytics, machine learning, and database management.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be an undergraduate (sophomore year or higher) or graduate student (master's or PhD candidate) pursuing a degree in computer science, bioinformatics, biology, biomedical engineering, mathematics, or a related field. Experience with statistical methods and/or data analysis is strongly preferred, along with demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and graphical).
Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
