The company, founded in 1959, has performed on-site precision chemical cleaning in every State of the Union as well as several projects in Asia, continental Europe, England, Ireland and Mexico.POSITION OPPORTUNITYThe Shipping and Receiving Lead I is responsible for the leadership of team members and production activities in the Shipping and Receiving area. This position will lead and will work directly with production teams to ensure that all customer hardware is received and shipped in a timely and most economical manner.This role will play a key role in helping the division to achieve On-Time Delivery and First Pass Yield goals.The Shipping and Receiving Lead I will maintain open lines of communication with other teams concerning: incoming hardware inspections, due dates, data entry, shipping needs, inventory needs, etc. The Shipping and Receiving Lead I will be responsible for chemical sampling, chemical storage compliance, and maintain shop inventory. They will serve the team in an encouraging and supportive manner while providing timely and constructive feedback to team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train team members on Astro Pak's shipping and receiving work instructions and computer systems
- Develops and trains shipping and receiving team members on handling procedures of customer hardware
- Assist quality in updating and maintaining work instructions
- Maintains shipping accounts
- Facilitates and maintains relationships with freight brokers and companies
- Assists in external Audits as a representative of the shipping and receiving team
- Ensure that all safety compliance training is completed for the shipping and receiving team
- Maintaining internal receiving documentation
- Uses CRM and other IT systems/applications to receive customer parts and ship finished goods
- Verifies received and shipped parts against packing slips and purchase orders
- Unloads incoming materials using proper methods
- Visually inspects received orders for inconsistencies or damage
- Prepares data pack and transposes data into CRM
- Prepares shipments for commercial shipping transport
- Perform general maintenance of equipment in the shipping area
- Conducts inventory of consumable packaging materials and requests stock fulfillment
- Updates production schedule with received and shipped orders
- Inventory management for shipping supplies and shop supplies
- Assist with shipping and receiving needs for field services
- Maintaining sample log for field services
- Maintaining physical and digital copies of chemical, gas and packaging certifications
- Assist with the shipment of calibrated equipment
- Communicate with purchasing and production to order supplies and inventory as needed
- Assist other technicians and departments as needed
- Comply with all training, quality, compliance and safety policies, practices and procedures
- All other responsibilities assigned by Lead or Manager
- Analyze and implement projects in compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws
QualificationsEducation/Training/Certifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred.Related Experience:At least 2 years of demonstrated success in manufacturing, production, or warehouse required. Experience working in a Cleanroom environment preferred and supervisory experience a plus.Overtime: Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required. 10-20% overtime to be expected.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions from Production Management System (ICMS), documents, correspondence and memos.
- Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear a respirator as needed
- Maintain Forklift License
- Use of a Pallet Jack
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Moderate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws
Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
