Under the general supervision of the enforcement supervisors, the senior parking representative will work primarily outdoors assisting the campus community and visitors with navigating a complex parking system consisting of approximately 20,000 parking stalls, 64 surface lots, and five parking structures.The incumbent will provide consistent enforcement of parking facilities, maintaining up-to-day knowledge of permit types, parking privileges, enforcement practices, and campus layout.The incumbent will assist with the adjudication of first-level citation appeals, collect money from permit dispensers, assist with event parking activities, and enforce pedestrian and bicycle safety.Additional responsibilities include performing vehicle jump-starts and lockouts and vehicular and pedestrian traffic direction. Required Able to work around moving vehicles on roadways, parking lots, and surface lots. Able to wear department-issued uniform. Required Skill to establish and maintain good working relationships, and to relate diplomatically within a large, diverse organization.Experience working in a team environment. Required Able to work independently and follow-through on assignments with general direction. Required Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population in a high-volume, customer-focused work environment Required Knowledge of basic computer skills and MS Office applications. Required Able to interpret and explain complex policies and regulations to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Required Knowledge of basic mathematical skills to maintain control monies received for payment of permits, citations, and events. Required Able to work outdoors, year-round, and in all weather conditions. Required Previous experience in the parking and transportation industry and knowledge of related Federal, State and local codes and regulations. Preferred Familiarity with the UCI campus and campus parking Preferred Knowledge of UC/UCI policies and procedures. Preferred Knowledge of Parking's online systems such as EPICS, Antpark, Citation Management and When to Work.
