DescriptionMaintenance SupervisorPOSITION SUMMARYMartin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, LLC Manistee MI facility, a US chemical manufacturer of magnesia-based products, is seeking a maintenance supervisor to oversee the planning, organization, and direction of mechanical maintenance department. This position requires coordination with production supervisors, maintenance reliability, electrical and engineering, and other plant personnel for successful continuous operations. Duties include coordination of repairs, troubleshooting of plant systems, execution of plant projects, and overall team leadership of the assigned shift.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise maintenance personnel in their daily jobs which includes inspect, repair, maintain and installation of equipment
- Lead safe work practices, including OSHA, company safety policy and hazard recognition
- Cost-effective use of contractors, spares, and materials
- Ensure necessary parts are ordered and onsite as required for outages and projects
- Ability to work occasional off shifts and weekends
- Other projects or assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Minimum of three years in an industrial maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of millwright tasks such as rigging equipment for heavy lifts, repair of machines and equipment, and adjusting clearances and alignment of moving parts, hydraulics and pneumatics is desirable.
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment and work well in team environment
- Strong planning, problem solving, troubleshooting, project management, and leadership skills
- Possess excellent verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Desired experience in root cause analysis of a failure and implementing corrective actions
- Supervision in a union environment is desirable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
- Walking, bending, climbing stairs and occasional ladders, sitting/standing for extended periods
- Visual acuity, clear speech & hearing ability, hand/eye coordination
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and Health and Safety guidelines as required
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions; industrial environment with process equipment
- Pass required background check, physical examination and drug screens
