Verdex is searching for a Project Executive with Multi-Family / Hospitality experience to join our growing team to help us in our mission of Building Something Better. Job Summary:

The Project Executive provides overall leadership and direction on the construction project. Typically, the Project Executive is responsible for negotiating the Owner contract, is the main contact for the Project Manager for issues concerning budget, billing, and client satisfaction, and ensures the fiscal success of the project.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership in business judgment and all financial and profitability aspects of projects under your jurisdiction
  • Manages financial administration and establishes project goals and objectives, evaluates project financial performance monthly.
  • Complies with accounting policies and procedures, provides accurate financial forecasting, maximizes cash flow, meets financial reporting deadlines
  • Manages risk in accordance with company guidelines, searches for new ways to improve operating returns and resolves claims in a timely manner
  • Oversees project operations and monitors for budget, schedule and profitability
  • Preserves corporate culture and philosophies.
  • Mentors others, promotes mission and vision, and encourages employee growth
  • Participates in new hire recruitment, fosters university relationships, and promotes employee referral program
  • Ensures compliance with Human Resources policies, procedures.
  • Participates in owner/architects/contractor/meetings, monitors for compliance with contract documents.
  • Reviews and approves subcontracts agreements and change orders, and ensures timely close-out of project
  • Maintains visibility with clients, develops effective relationships, services client interim needs and maintains open lines of communication
  • Maintains visibility with owners and subcontractors, as well as develops effective relationships, monitors subcontractor buyout and negotiations, develops subcontractor strategy for projects
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational symposia; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.
  • Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
  • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Requirement & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of construction management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of intricate commercial construction practices required.
  • Experience leading multiple successful project teams including development of direct reports and maintaining relationships with external entities.
  • The ability to manage and embrace change. Respond and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old.
  • Strong computer skills are a necessity, including familiarity with construction project management applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and are required to interface directly with owners' representatives, the A/E team, building departments and other team members.
  • Strong leadership skills are required including, but not limited to coaching, mentoring and the ability to build and maintain motivated teams.
  • Advanced project management finance skills are required.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree or a Masters Degree in Construction Management or related field of study
