REPORTS TO: Circulation Services Supervisor
LOCATION: Seeley G. Mudd Library
APPOINTMENT: Eleven-month contract (August-June)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision of the Circulation Services Supervisor, the Circulation Services Assistant/Night Supervisor provides excellent service to the community by supervising and training student assistants; processing documents for course reserve; maintaining the library's circulating equipment collection; providing direct service to patrons; overseeing stack maintenance and inventory; monitoring the library building; and other duties as assigned.
DUTIES:
* Assist in the training and supervision of student circulation assistants and shelvers.
* Maintain the library's circulating equipment collection, including testing and evaluating.
* Process books and articles for course reserve, including scanning materials, creating catalog records, and seeking copyright permission for reserve materials.
* Use and provide support for circulation system software (Alma).
* Assist students and others in locating library materials.
* Assist in searching for requested items and in recalls on loaned materials.
* Assist with stacks maintenance and shelving materials.
* Monitor and secure the building throughout the night and at closing.
* Process interlibrary loan requests when needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE REQUIRED:
* School year: 40 hours per week Sunday-Thursday, 3:45 p.m. - 12:15 a.m.
* Breaks (December, late March, late June, August): Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
* Some flexibility in scheduled hours required.
