STARTING WAGE: $20.50 HOURS: 2:00 p.m. - end time varies with production needsDAYS: Monday - FridaySTATUS: Non-ExemptSUMMARY Operator will be responsible for operating equipment and understanding the various packaging & production equipment. Will ensure products are packaged and produced to Mrs. Gerry's quality and safety standards. Assists with sanitation when necessary. Will rotate through various positions as needed to meet production needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Know and follow HACCP, SQF, SOP and SSOP programs.
- Know and follow all Food and Safety procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble various machines, piping, and pumps.
- All equipment to be set up and maintained for sanitation and eliminate cross-contamination of ingredients.
- When processing lines are not running will be doing various miscellaneous jobs on the lines including sanitation.
- Must be able to move and lift heavy ingredients or equipment.
- Operate machines to ensure ingredients/products meet MKG standards.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Safety conscious
- Must have good recording skills and a sense for detail.
- Familiar with or able to learn computer displays and readouts.
- Must have or be able to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license.
- Ability to apply common reasoning and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Capable of working through problem solving situations for the betterment of the situation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak, read and understand English.
