Position Summary:The Manufacturing Support Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our electronic products. This position is responsible for soldering and operating wave-solder equipment and making sure the integrity of their soldering skill is up to IPC standards. It will also include diagnosing and repairing defects on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other electronic components as well as repairing and replacing components when needed for reworks. In addition to the soldering, this job requires supporting the operation of Juki SMT machines. This position uses their advanced expertise in electronic troubleshooting and soldering to maintain product quality and meet production deadlines.Essential Responsibilities: Replace and/or repair faulty components using solder techniques including but not limited to through-hole, surface mount, and high temperature soldering. As part of assembly instructions perform a minimum of 2 varieties of solders such as; Through-hole, Touch up, and Wave Solder Conduct testing and troubleshooting functions with the assistance of information in the form of written or verbal descriptions/diagrams/ schematics. Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron. Performs assembly of electronic and/or electro-mechanical products and sub-assemblies of Company products in accordance with established workmanship standards and assembly drawings and documentation, found in schematics. Performs wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable prep for units. Complete process of conformal coating after assembly installation as needed per documentation. Assembly of cables and cable harnessing, as required per customer's performance test. Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Analyze and identify faults and defects in PCBs and other electronic assemblies using advanced testing equipment, such as multimeters and techniques. Perform precise soldering and rework on PCBs to repair damaged or faulty components and connections. Replace faulty or damaged components, such as resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and connectors, to ensure proper functionality. Maintain detailed records of repairs, test results, and component replacements for future reference and quality improvement purposes. Diagnose complex repairs on PCBs by using resources such as RMA work and advanced techniques such as BGAs, QFNs, etc. Support the operation of SMT machines. Support in packing and shipping including but not limited to creating and recording shipping documents. Adhere to strict quality control measures and guidelines to ensure consistent and reliable repairs. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements to enhance repair efficiency and reduce turnaround time. Collaborates with peers and/or supervisors to resolve problems depending on the level and complexity. Perform other tasks as assigned within the qualifications and training received. Completes all production related documents per customer or vendor requirements. Maintains good housekeeping and safety principles, including ESD in the completion of all work assignments.Skills and Specifications Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications in electronics, soldering, or related fields are a plus. Minimum 3 years of experience in PCB repair and soldering. Experience in electronics manufacturing or repair facilities is highly desirable. Proficient in surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole soldering techniques, with the ability to handle intricate soldering tasks. Know and adhere to ISO soldering workmanship standards. Solid understanding of electronic components, circuits, and PCB layouts. Experience working under a microscope or using magnification devices with precision tools to troubleshoot and repair. Demonstrated ability to work with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality repairs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and handle multiple repair tasks simultaneously. IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification preferred. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team. Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines when working with electronic components and repair equipment. Problem-Solving Skills: Creative problem-solving abilities to address unique repair challenges effectively. Ability to work on ITAR governed projects as needed. Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation: Ability to speak, read and write English as it relates to the job requirements. Physical ability to see, stand, bend, reach, walk, push, pull, carry and lift up to 35 lbs.
