About this role We are seeking an innovative Staff Software Engineer to scale our systems that empower LLMs to interact with external, custom data sources. To reach a seamless customer experience, our systems need to be faster and more accurate and your role will be to lead the architecture for this effort. #LI-JF1 What you'll do
- Lead, design and implement the architecture for our LLM-based systems from the ground up
- Work with our AI Research team to optimise search and retrieval results for our custom data sources
- Support our efforts to improve our LLM-based system's performance for our custom domain, including fine-tuning and/or pertaining LLMs, creating efficient agents networks, etc.
- Expand concepts like Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to encompass heterogeneous data types (images, tables, relational data, etc.)
- Collaborate with product teams to rapidly prototype and deliver innovative solutions
Qualifications
- Extensive Python/ golang/ rust programming experience
- Strong background in machine learning, search & retrieval research
- Proven experience developing software utilising LLMs (OAI, Anthropic, Mistral etc.) and SLMs (Llama, Phi etc.)
- Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable search systems and algorithms
- Experience with distributed data processing and large-scale system architecture
- Familiarity with search algorithms and information retrieval concepts such as indexing, ranking, query understanding and RAG
- (preferred) Experience working with research teams to enhance search quality
- (preferred) Experience building large scale knowledge bases
- (preferred) Experience with cross-modal data integration (text, images, structured data)
