Job DescriptionPittsburg State University is accepting applications for an Administrative Associate at the KRPS-FM radio station to perform administrative tasks to support Four States Public Radio and manage and supervise student workers. This position performs a variety of tasks to help ensure successful programs.Duties and Responsibilities of PositionAdministrative Support for Four States Public Radio - 80% (Essential)
  • Provide, plan, organize, direct, oversee, and coordinate administrative and support activities, for KRPS with other PSU staff, including administrative staff in colleges, schools, units, and other departments. Monitor daily office operations and ensure proper procedures.
  • Collect, organize, and compose correspondence. Answer phones, respond to emails, forward messages, and schedule and confirm appointments, including prospective student or donor tours.
  • Attend KRPS meetings, keep records of pertinent and procedural information, and provide input in areas of knowledge base regarding procedures and operational needs; provide follow-up and/or implementation of new/revised policies, procedures, or guidelines.
  • Calculate, process, and submit payments for KRPS.
  • Assists in planning and carrying out KRPS fall and spring pledge drives, in addition to taking pledges from listener contributors, keeping records of donations, and following up with donors.
  • Work with KRPS staff in awarding scholarships.
  • Maintain filing systems and utilize variety of software, platforms (OneDrive, SharePoint) and Word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
  • Preserve confidentiality of records.
  • Provide information to current/prospective students, parents, and industry partners and respond to direct inquiries as appropriate.
  • Create and organize radio broadcast traffic logs and maintain an underwriting schedule. Work with KRPS staff and underwriters to ensure copy is written in a non-commercial manner.
Reports and Projects - 10% (Essential)
  • Oversee, direct, complete, and submit reports, presentations, and projects for KRPS including reports and projects required by external governing bodies, such as other state agencies.
  • Analyze, compile, and organize data to produce reports and presentations.
  • Assist with reports or tasks required for departmental or advisory board meetings.
Supervise Student Employees - 5% (Non-Essential)
  • Hire, train, and supervise the work of student employees and perform other required line manager duties.
Miscellaneous - 5% (Non-Essential)
  • Oversee the use of and submit maintenance requests as needed for offices, production areas, computers, and other equipment.
  • Oversee inventory.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:Required Education and Experience at Hire -
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in an office or administrative setting. Education may be substituted for experience as determined by the University.
Preferred Education and Experience -
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Four years of experience in administration and management
