The Accounts Payable Clerk compiles and maintains verified accounts payable records and reconciles statements and issues payment to vendors.Job Responsibilities
- Prepares accounts payable checks.
- Assists in monthly closings.
- Posts all open items in accounts payable on a daily basis.
- Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
- Responsible for maintaining schedules.
- Files within appropriate file system all dealership forms, records, reports, correspondence, or other important material.
- Answers all vendor inquiries and requests copies from vendors.
- Analyzes vendor accounts, post all vendor invoices, and handles all vendor maintenance.
- Answers accounts payable phone calls and follows up on inquiries.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Clerical and/or Accounting: 1 yearExperience in the automotive industry is a plus but not requiredQualificationsCandidate must demonstrate above average clerical and computer skills with accurate data entry and attention to detailMust communicate effectively in both written and oral format with customers and co-workersPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
