You will be responsible for performing high-quality welding using various techniques such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in all positions, while being responsible for inspecting and ensuring that all welds meet specific codes and industry standards.You will collaborate closely with quality assurance teams and, at times, train and mentor junior welders to maintain high-quality workmanship throughout the team. This position also requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring the accuracy and precision of all work completed.Key Responsibilities:Perform welding tasks using GMAW, GTAW, and other welding techniques in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).Inspect welds to ensure compliance with industry codes and project specifications.Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any welding or inspection issues.Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements.Inspect welds for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with NDT standards and assist in maintaining program for continual complianceMaintain welding equipment and tools, reporting malfunctions as necessary.Provide mentorship and training to junior welders as needed.Minimum Qualifications:Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or Level III Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certification.Extensive experience with GMAW, GTAW, and other welding techniques.Ability to weld in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).In-depth knowledge of welding standards, codes, and inspection practices.Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.Experience interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.Strong communication skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior welders.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.· Ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing.· Excellent attention to detail. Physical Requirements:· Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.· The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions. Frequently required to push, pull, reach, and lift. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Environmental Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that may be encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. The individual is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, potential for physical injury, and fumes, strong odors or airborne particles.
