For over 30 years, OMR has been a trusted partner for the automotive, healthcare, manufacturing, and (intra-) logistics industries. www.oceaneering.com/omrPosition SummaryThe Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and oversees the inspection team supporting OMR products designed, produced, and installed by the Orlando Operations. The inspector will interpret specifications, determine testing procedures, and operate necessary equipment. This role requires reading dials or digital displays, comparing results to specifications, and recording test data. Collaboration with engineers, technicians, and production personnel is essential. The inspector must demonstrate the ability to perform dimensional checks and visual inspections of fabricated and machined parts, document non-conformance reports, and work independently with minimal supervision. Coordination with global inspection activities may be required.LOCATION• Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.Duties & ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL• Perform inspections on materials, products, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.• Read drawings, comprehend specifications and tolerances, and use dial indicators and digital gauges to compare results with specifications.• Perform dimensional checks and visual verifications of parts and assemblies.• Interpret and implement measurement techniques based on drawing standards.• Review data such as dimensional reports, material test reports, and certificates of conformity.• Verify incoming materials meet procurement order requirements.• Conduct inspections and tests as required by Quality Plans, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), or customer requirements.• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records.• Participate in internal and external meetings as required.• Follow all procedures and systems in place, ensuring calibrated measuring equipment is used.• Document, investigate, and track non-conformance records in designated repositories.• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors as needed.• Available to work overtime and weekends as necessary.• Participate in developing and improving quality system procedures and work instructions.• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.• Other duties as assigned.QualificationsREQUIRED• 3-5 years of experience or equivalent education and training.• Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC).• Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and document management software.• Quality assurance training (ANSI, ASQC, TQM).• Experience with dimensional and mechanical inspection in an ISO 9000 environment.• Strong computer and communication skills.DESIRED• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.• Knowledge of ISO 17020 and ISO 17025.• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) and welding methodologies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.• Ability to effectively communicate requirements with suppliers and sub-contractors.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.COMPUTER SKILLS• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PeopleSoft, Enovia, Google Apps and SmartSolve.Equal Opportunity EmployerAll qualified candidates will receive consideration for all positions without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other non-merit factors
