General Summary of PositionWill perform duties as a customer service liaison between Environmental Services, Plant Operations and Food and Nutrition Departments. Washes walls, venetian blinds, woodwork, and light fixtures. Cleans hospital rooms and equipment upon discharge of patient. Uses powered and hand cleaning equipment.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Performs unit environmental maintenance to ensure a clean environment by placing used and unused linen in soiled holding area.
  • Performs environmental maintenance on nurse's stations and office waiting areas, bathrooms, clean and soiled utility rooms by removing trash, cleaning horizontal surfaces (sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors).
  • Assists Environmental Services Supervisor with environmental maintenance by reporting repair and cleaning needs outside of their capabilities.
  • Document daily isolation discharge cleaning, monthly cubicle curtains and scheduled terminal cleans.
  • Restocks rooms after patient discharge and resets room for next patient.
  • Ensures cleaning and removal of all equipment from rooms when patient is discharged.
  • Reports any complaints to Environmental Services Supervisor.
  • Collects trash, segregates trash by placing into categories: Recyclable, hazardous, Sharps and General waste.
