Under general supervision, performsallprocesses necessarytodiagnose and complete mechanicalandcosmeticrepairsoncustomerand internalCarMax vehicles followingprescribedCarMaxpoliciesandprocedures.
Principle Duties andResponsibilities:
- Provideandmaintain exceptionalcustomerservicethrough customer contactbefore,during,and afterrepairs asdefined by CarMax“Voiceof Customer”processes.
- Locate, useand control replacement partsandsupply inventories
- Use andcontroltoolsandequipment
- Performmechanicalandcosmeticrepairs, includingbut notlimited to thediagnosisof all internal and externalvehiclesystems.
- FollowCarMax standardized workrules
- Inspect vehicles per CarMaxQuality Standardswhen needed.
- Complete state inspectionswhenrequired.
- Maintainworkplacecleanliness and organizationinaccordance withCarMax 5Sstandards
Reviewrepair orders for work performedandaccuracyof all labor,parts and sublet documentationfor billingincluding opening and closingofrepair orders
- Collect service payments and manage payments receivedforservices.
- Use ofproprietaryanduniversalsoftware systems including CarMax ElectronicRepair OrderandMitchell.
- Provide functional expertise and leadership to otherassociates.
- Providegeneral supportto otherassociatesandmanagersin thestore, including,but not limited to vehicleassessment,vehicleprepping,vehiclereceivingandtransferring.
Job Specifications:
Work requires ability to:
- Complete New Associate Orientation Training–Operations.
- Complete Kronos TrainingforHourly Associates.
- Maintain acurrent Refrigerant RecyclingLicense.
- Where required by State/Local law,maintain current ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4) and Brakes (A5).
- Read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accuraterecords.
- Perform multiple duties inahigh-energy,fast-pacedenvironment.
- Lift objects that weigh as much as50lbs.
- Speak and listen effectively in dealingwith customers/associatesin personand overthephone.
- Demonstrateaboveaverage attention to detail.
- Manual dexterity in both arms andhands
- Monitorshop compliance withCarMax, O.S.H.A.,andEPA policies
- Demonstrateexceptional interpersonal,communication, andcustomerservice skills
- Demonstrateexceptional telephone etiquette and active listeningskills
WorkingConditions:
- Combination of office, shop and outdoorenvironment.May include working at times in noisy and/orinclementweather conditions.
- Mayrequirewalking orstandingforan extended periodof time.
- Flexibleworkhours withshiftsthat mayinclude nights, weekends, andholidays.
- WearsCarMaxclothing(acquired through company)at all timesworkingin the store.
- Follow allCarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the useof Personal Protective Equipment, and properwaste disposalinrequiredareas.
- Adhere to all CarMax policiesincludingAttendance, Asset Protection, Integrity andProfessionalAppearancepolicies.
