Edwards Center POSITION: Custodian REPORTS TO:Director of Building and Grounds Job Type: Fulltime and Parttime Pay Rate: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour Location: Mainstreet Port Henry, NY JOB SUMMARY: The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a building and the surrounding grounds. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following.
- General cleaning and appearance of property.
- Minor maintenance of property and equipment.
- Work in coordination with other custodial staff in order to ensure completion of all routine duties.
- Other related duties as assigned by the GBEC Program Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Visual, auditory, and motor skills necessary to maintain safety standards within the building.
- Ability to see unsanitary and unsafe conditions.
- Ability to carry out sweeping, mopping, shoveling.
- Ability to run motorized cleaning equipment, rug shampooer and floor buffer.
- Ability to read and follow directions on cleaning products and cleaning materials.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds to shoulder height at times. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- EDUCATION: No high school diploma or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE: The custodian shall have a good working knowledge of a variety of custodial and minor maintenance skills. Custodial experience required.
