Systems Administrator II Job Locations US-LA-Leesville Job ID 2024-7725 Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for Fort Johnson. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers. Perform software installations, upgrades, and system tuning to optimize performance. Ensure data integrity and recoverability through system backups and media management. Develop and maintain a comprehensive configuration database for all systems. Track and report system documentation lifecycle and provide five-year lifecycle projections. Maintain data center diagrams, inventory, and environmental requirements. Monitor and maintain cybersecurity controls and ensure compliance with Army IT standards. Manage all aspects of Microsoft MECM, SCOM, and WSUS. Administer asset and service management applications. Develop and maintain the Enterprise System Management Architectural Design Document. Create and maintain SOPs, scripts, data models, and other system support tools. Perform systems analysis, integration, documentation, and testing. Install, de-install, and maintain hardware, including routers, servers, and switches. Manage server and data integration, including MECM and SCOM upgrades. Troubleshoot and monitor servers for optimal performance and data recoverability. Install and manage SQL server databases. Transition, deploy, and maintain cloud services, ensuring security and performance. Manage Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) systems. Administer file and share access controls, backups, and database administration. Assist users with email setup, configuration, and anti-virus installation. Troubleshoot and maintain user accounts and mail services. Configure and maintain Exchange Mail Server in compliance with Army regulations. Qualifications 3 years experience in systems administration. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must be Security certified. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques. Experience with Windows Server; MS SQL Server; and VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN, and Horizon. Experience with network-attached storage, storage area networks, email, collaboration systems, and file, print, and mission servers. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with Microsoft Windows. Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects. Able to assess server infrastructure and configuration and identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Must have experience with RMF and STIGs. Experience creating, reviewing, and revising security documentation and artifacts. Experience with DoD IT environment and networks. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
