Job Summary

Responsible for all areas of payroll including implementation and ongoing maintenance of the payroll system (UKG), preparation of all company payroll, developing and implementing payroll policies, procedures and practices that comply with State and Federal requirements. The Payroll Administrator will have a thorough understanding of Payroll policies, procedures, and principles. The incumbent must be a team player, who can coordinator between departments in a -fast-paced environment. This role may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Key Job Accountabilities:

* Under the general direction of the Controller, plan, organize and supervise the payroll process.

* Manage the payroll system, ensuring administration, calculation tables and security of these systems are properly maintained and updated as per Company requirements.

* Critically review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to identify/recommend/implement improvements in payroll and control processes, leading to best-practice operations.

* Ensure accuracy & maintain documentation for all related payroll data.

* Maintain and update all processes, procedures and manuals relating to payroll.

* Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll functions to ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.

* Oversee pre-payroll processing procedures throughout organization to ensure accuracy and integrity of data and ensure payroll processes are observed, including training and oversight of timecard processing by office admins and managers.

* Process bi-weekly payroll including deductions, garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.

* Reconcile and audit all bi-weekly and monthly payroll and payroll tax reports

* Partner with HR to ensure:

o All aspects of 401(k) and HSA/FSA processing and funding are in compliance with regulations and all year end audit requirements are met.

o Train supervisors and department payroll support positions on how to use the system and communicate deadlines.

o Maintain accurate workers compensation records in relation to payroll year end audit process.

o New hires, transfers, promotions and terminations are processed accurately and timely.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

* Minimum of 8 years of strong payroll experience.

* Experience processing payroll for an organization (500+ employee base).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge and deep understanding of systems integration challenges and process knowledge.

* Knowledge and experience with large integrated payroll and HR software is required, (UKG )preferred.

* Exceptional ethical behavior maintaining extreme confidentiality regarding payroll, personnel and sensitive financial information.

* Ability to understand complex rules and laws as related to payroll, and follow instructions correctly.

* Ability to perform with extreme accuracy, meticulous attention to detail.

* Ability to accurately and efficiently analyze large amount of data.

* Ability to exhibit excellent customer and employee interpersonal skills.

* Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work efficiently and accurately under time pressure, often times independently.

* Ability to work well with a team and collaborate with others.

* Ability to demonstrate strong MS Excel skills.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to lift up to 45 lbs with assistance.
