Job Summary and Qualifications
A multifaceted role designed to support the staff and the department in general. Requires flexibility to move between the various aspects of the role to ensure continuity of support. Complies with the Memorial Health Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms.
Monitoring patient flow through the department. Schedules appointments, calls referrals, checks insurance status and updates the medical record to reflect most current information. Maintains database for indigent care, reconciles charges on a daily basis.
Supplies and Equipment: Assists with procuring and controlling supplies, equipment and materials used in the department.
Coordinates timely repair of equipment and maintenance of environment. Performs cost comparisons as needed.
Provides administrative support to the clinical staff and Director as needed. Coordinates appointments and meetings. Attends meetings to assist with minutes as needed. Assists with preparing reports and data collection. Assists with productivity monitoring through regular auditing and reconciliation of multiple data bases Provides reports from these data bases on a daily, weekly, biweekly or as needed basis
Performance improvement activities: provides clerical support for departmental/division specific PI projects - collects and tracks data, provide regular updates to Director, Managers and Team Members.
Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
Medical terminology required. Must utilize sound critical thinking skills. Experience with Word, Excel, and data base management required. Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
3-5 years of relevant work experience; supervisor experience preferred.
