Is a Large Press Setup Role at Mott a GREAT fit for you? A Large Press Setup Technician at Mott, is responsible for product production from setup through inspection and packaging of parts. Setup various tonnage hydraulic presses and perform first piece inspection ensuring quality parts. Make any necessary adjustments and follow job through to completion.The Large Press Setup Technician plays a critical role in making sure that production is continuous by performing setups on machines as well as inspections to ensure high-quality parts. Also, but not limited to, the Setup Technician is to ensure that the work is performed to meet the scheduled ship dates, setup and/or operate the various machines and equipment to produce parts to written specifications within base job responsibilities, verify/validate the results of various quality inspections for porous parts. Apply knowledge of facilities as needed throughout the shift or in an emergency. Train new and transferred employees. This position is responsible for maintaining safety and QMS procedures. This position may be required to cover off shifts and/or weekend shifts.Key Responsibilities:Major Challenges:Perform base job responsibilitiesTroubleshoot equipment as neededEnsure all schedules are implemented correctly. Aid in redirection of assignments or redirect schedules as neededSet-up and operate various machines and equipment within the Large Press Cell according to training manual, standard shop practices, QMS standards, standard works, product detail sheets, etc.Perform first piece, in-process and final inspection steps including visual sorting, flow testing, length, OD, Burr, etc.Running and monitoring of presses; in process inspection and adjustment, tray loading, furnace operation & monitoring powder levelsSuccessful communication across shifts and handoff of tasksDriving improvements in daily operations while maintaining delivery metricsRapid fluctuations in product mix and volumes in production require detailed planningMeeting tight production requirements across long running production & reacting in real time to stay within the requirementsExpected Performance Outcomes:Required Experience:Safety: Safety issues are identified and addressed promptly.
