Medical Technologist/Technician

Physicians Group Laboratories is a new generation of laboratory testing and patient care. We provide PCR diagnostic laboratory testing and service providers across the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Arizona. As a Medical Technologist/Technician at Physicians Group Laboratories, you will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Medical/Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager, provide state-of-the-art laboratory specimen testing.
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of the laboratory.
  • Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety. Responsible for laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients.
  • Responsible for Physicians Group Laboratories technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, including instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration.
  • Processes laboratory specimens.
  • Performs operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Manages daily operations of assigned department/s
  • Maintains objectivity in decision-making, utilizing facts to support decisions.
  • Manages to eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient, and quality service Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues Demonstrates flexibility in response to change.
  • Anticipates and responds to problems and risks.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician and/or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science
  • Certified (registered) with an approved certifying agency, e.g. ASCP, AAB, AMT.
  • Louisiana State license as a CLS Generalist or CLS Technician

  • Ability to lift >35 lbs, with assistance
