Summary:Under direct supervision, performs computerized patient scheduling. Receives patients and visitors and answers the telephone. Completes the patient office visit.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served.•Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Organizational Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures.•Inputs daily appointment schedules for patients and schedules new patients as referred. Consults with provider(s) when need arises.•Prints and distributes daily patient schedules to appropriate areas.•Assists with updates and verifies patient demographics, making appropriate changes in the computer system.•Answers telephone calls and maintain proficient receiving/relaying of messages from external and internal customers.•Maintains the scheduling system for accuracy and timeliness of service.•Demonstrates proper use of office equipment.•Collects the current co-pays or coinsurance and past-due balances.•Prepares patient's medical records for provider visit.•Uses effective communication principles to coordinate care with other health care providers.•Actively participates in clinic meetings, committees, conferences, and in-services.•Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes.•Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and business.•Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducingrisk to patients. Complies with Safety and Infection Control & Procedure.•Demonstrates general working knowledge of computers and department specificsoftware (i.e. word, excel, bed tracking, internet, med aide, etc.)•Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilitiesrelated to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.•Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.•Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors andfellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.•Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unitteam inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability tomeet its goals and objectives.Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Perform other duties as assigned.Professional Requirements:•Complete annual education requirements.•Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.•Report to work on time and as scheduled.•Wear identification while on duty.•Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.•Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.•Comply with all organizational policies.•Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.•Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvementactivities.•Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.Job Requirements:* Bilingual in Spanish•High school diploma required•Previous experience of one to two years in a medical office or health care facilitypreferred.•Must have general working knowledge of computers and department specific software(i.e. word, excel, bed tracking, internet, med aide, etc.)Organizational/Core Competencies:•Exceed Quality.•Exceed Customer Expectations.•Grow Team Members.•Increase Market Share.•Exceed Budget Expectation.•Strengthen, Build, and Leverage Community Relationships.
