Description

* BASIC FUNCTION

* Provides general support services for all Self-Sufficiency Center programs and assists Self-Sufficiency Center staff with individual appointment and group orientation administration in all service delivery locations with services in both English and Spanish languages.

2. WORK PERFORMED

1) Conducts individual appointments, group orientations, and program participant services for Self-Sufficiency Center programs in English and/or Spanish for all service delivery locations in accordance with program appointment and orientation schedules

2) Assist program participants with vocational goals, employment barriers, and necessary supportive services, including Social Security (SSI/SSDI) application assistance

3) Assists program participants in rsum development, employment application, job searching, vocational goal development, work habits, and work ethic

4) Conducts Job Readiness Training Program sessions on a weekly basis, following prescribed curriculum and schedule; groups are between 5 and 20 clients, held in both the Jamestown and Dunkirk Self-Sufficiency Center office locations

5) Responsible for providing retention (follow-up) services to program participants

6) Monitors and reports all program participant attendance and compliance/non-compliance and takes appropriate action, including conciliations when necessary

7) Completes all required data entry into WTWCMS

8) Maintains appropriate and required program participant files

9) Completes and submits reports to program management and/or the Department of Health and Human Services as required

10) Exercises flexibility in assisting other Self-Sufficiency Center staff

11) Cross-trains with other Self-Sufficiency Center staff to insure flexibility and service delivery

12) Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EQUIVALENT EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED: High School graduate, additional course work desirable.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One year of clerical experience. Advanced education may be substituted for experience. Experience in a Human Service setting helpful.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Computer Proficiency; Microsoft Office Suite, Familiarity with Database entry. Sound telephone techniques. Ability to proofread and correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors. Knowledge of office procedures. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid NYS Driver's License and personal automobile for company business use.
