About Us: Hello! We're the Justice Information Technology Services (JITS) team at the Montana Department of Justice (DOJ).We serve the Montana Attorney General providing vital Information Technology (IT) infrastructure which Montanan's rely upon to support state and local law enforcement. Our team is dynamic and collaborative, and we have a big impact. We manage the IT systems, services, and interfaces to support approximately 900 DOJ employees, and over 3,000 Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) customers across the state working together to make a difference. JITS supports DOJ staff involved with legal cases concerning the State and its people, Montana missing persons, victim services, children's justice, consumer protection, criminal investigations, highway safety, motor vehicle operations, gambling control, criminal history information, and forensic laboratory services. Job Overview: The primary duties of the
IT Systems Support 2 position involve hardware and software installation, maintenance, and training on microcomputer workstations in local and wide area networks. The incumbent provides technical problem resolution on microcomputer workstations that include hardware, communications, or multi-product integration. This team supports end-user and data processing personnel and manages and provides trouble resolution for DOJ-wide area network users and authorized agents. Some state vehicle driving and lifting/moving hardware up to twenty-five pounds is required.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: - Associate degree in information technology or related field.
- One to three years of experience supporting network or computer systems technologies.
- Other combinations of education, certification or experience may be substituted.
- Must have the ability to work in all aspects of a team environment including support, communication, personal awareness, ability to utilize and provide professional critiques, and demonstrate emotional intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications: - Extensive knowledge of desktop/laptop computer support and troubleshooting to include previous and current versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Extensive knowledge of MS Office application uses and troubleshooting.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory.
- Extensive knowledge of computer peripherals such as scanners, printers, and MFPs.
- Thorough knowledge of system, diagnostic, and utility software - PC Tools, MS Sysinternals, remote desktop support applications and methods, antivirus and anti-malware tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of LANs, WANs and WWANs.
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center applications.
- Knowledge of mobile computing devices like tablets and smartphones.
Minimum Physical/Mental Requirements: - May require 8 or more hours a day working with a computer.
- May require more than a 40-hour workweek and on-call to perform systems upgrades and address issues during off-hours.
- May require regular phone use to resolve issues through long-duration calls.
- Ability to regularly lift, move, and install computer hardware - up to 25 lbs.
