As the Residential Custom Deck Builder Foreman, you will work hands-on with the team and oversee all aspects of construction, including framing, finish carpentry, composite decking installation, and more. - Organize and manage deck-building projects from start to finish.
- Read and interpret construction plans and ensure projects are built according to specifications.
- Supervise, train, and lead a team of 2-3 crew members in all aspects of deck construction.
- Oversee and participate in the entire construction process, including digging footings, post and girder framing, wood and composite decking installation, and railing installation.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed and that all necessary inspections are passed.
- Monitor and control project costs and schedules to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
- Communicate with customers throughout the process to ensure satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the offsite project manager to meet project goals.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of progress.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Proven experience as a working Construction Foreman with at least 5 years of experience, particularly in deck building.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
- Expertise in deck construction, including footings, post and girder framing, wood and composite decking installation, railing installation, and addressing house dry rot.
- Familiarity with Simpson hardware options and their uses.
- Must own bags, saws, impact tools, and necessary hand tools
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Physical fitness to lift, bend, work on ladders, lift 60+ lbs, and operate in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
