STARTING DATE: School Year 2024-2025 (July 2024)REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Adult Post-Secondary EducationWORK DAY/YEAR: Evenings/Weekends, Hours VarySALARY RANGE: Part-Time/Hourly (As Needed)QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Bachelor's degree in education preferred
- Appropriate valid Ohio Adult Education teaching license or ability to obtain
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
- Prepare, distribute and submit assessment testing and reporting
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
- Ability to teach all subject areas and levels of ABE and HSE, including reading, writing, and math
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse setting
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
- Demonstrated evidence of a clear background check
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Provide educational instruction in assigned/topic areas to include reading, writing, math, social studies, science, literature, the arts, graphing and charting, technology skills, and other topics as assigned
- Conduct student assessment, educational/vocational goal setting, transitional options information to 100% of assigned students
- Provide instruction that produces educational improvements for all assigned students as measured by student pre/post education testing
- Develop and submit 100% of learning documentation and progress forms (lesson plans, student portfolios, Google classroom, Distance Education, homework, testing results and other learning documentation) for 100% of assigned students in accordance with directed timeline requirements.
- Attend all directed meetings, seminars, workshops, professional development training,
- Report to regularly and on time
- Participate in ongoing curriculum development, revision, and implementation
- Coordinate with faculty and staff within the program in the larger adult post-secondary community or referral agencies
- Remain free of any non-prescribed controlled substance or alcohol abuse in the workplace throughout one's employment in the district
