We envision and work toward a bright future, full of possibilities, where each child can flourish and reach their full potential.Counseling In Schools is Wholeness Coordinator for ATECH High School and PS 398 in Brooklyn. Under the direction of the Community School Director, the Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of strategic initiatives, programs, and activities related to student wholeness, social and emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices (RP), Chronic Absenteeism, and other community schools oriented approaches, such as trauma-informed practices, and grounding the work in an equity frame. The Wholeness Coordinator is also responsible for managing a small caseload and facilitating groups. The Coordinator will have a particular focus on supporting the development and implementation of strategies and resources that support schools to build a strong culture and climate, with an emphasis on creating safe, welcoming, and joyful learning environments; establishing clear and consistent expectations and systems to support student behavior and positive reinforcement; nurturing relationship- and community-building; ensuring that the school has a tiered system of supports in place to support students' healthy development and well-being; and creating a culture and approaches to teaching and learning that elevate student voice and leadership.The Coordinator is responsible for developing strong partnerships with schools, families, community-based organizations, other offices (OCS & OSH), technical service providers, and others supporting the work. The Coordinator is also responsible for keeping data-gathering and analysis, monitoring program quality, and reporting. As part of the larger community school model, the Coordinator contributes to strategy development, learning and improvement processes, and representationKey Responsibilities:
  • Provides supervision and management of the Success Mentor program and staff, including approval of time, attendance, and schedules; support tracker maintenance, monitoring referrals, and EHR data entries and approval.
  • Provides technical expertise, coordination, and project management for student attendance initiatives, school climate and culture programming, ensuring thoughtful planning and design, high-quality and on-time execution of deliverables, and clear communication and reporting in line with internal and external requirements.
  • In close consultation with the School leadership and Operations Support team, coordinates the identification of and supports priority school needs related to climate and culture and student wholeness. This includes supporting attendance initiatives, parent and student engagement, as well as associated goal-setting and technical support for climate improvement, including marketing, Media - footprint in Social Media, Articulation, and organizational support with Exploration activities.
  • Manages and supports the work for Student Wholeness, Culture, and Climate; Participates in all meetings related to student wholeness and climate; supports and oversees the implementation of work plans; and monitoring work to ensure that schools receive high-quality and practical support.
  • Leads the creation of materials and resources to support work related to school climate improvement and student wholeness.
  • Collaborates in the development of professional learning for school-based staff, families, partners, and others.
  • Monitor outputs and measure outcomes related to the work, with a focus on improvements in climate-related data and with an emphasis on using data to support continuous improvement.
  • Applies equity frame to all work, continuously reflecting on the potential impact of the school reimagining plans and actions on perpetuating or disrupting and dismantling racism and inequity.
  • Represents the school and CIS and works internally and externally, as required.
  • Maintain & manage clinical individual and group caseloads and ensure all aspects of fidelity counseling services are provided, including clinical assessments, SDQs, EHR, SEL programming, etc.
  • Develops strong and highly collaborative working relationships with all key partners and stakeholders.
