Position Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Shreveport Job Corps CenterReports To: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor The Maintenance Technician position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24. Summary of Duties: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance duties and other grounds keeping, landscaping and custodial duties; performs routine andemergency cleanup. Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Promotes the Maintenance Program initiatives and functions.
- Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of information/data.
- Completes repairs, custodial work, grounds keeping and other duties as necessary to ensure efficiency in the department.
- Monitors the completion of work orders to check for quality and work completed, provides feedback to staff/vendor as necessary.
- Ensures that Center is always attractive, clean, safe, and in good repair.
- Works with the Supervisor to develops and implement strategies to ensure Center's grounds and buildings are always in excellent condition.
- Works with supervisor to maintain a routine preventative maintenance program for all facilities, equipment, appliances, and vehicles on Center.
- Monitors the status and quality of the preventative maintenance program.
- Reports necessary changes to supervisor.
- Reviews policies and procedures annually.
- Completes preventative maintenance objectives in a timely, most cost-efficient method.
- Ensures pest control.
- Prioritizes and completes work orders: Prioritizes work orders. Disseminates assignments to maintenance staff and ensures they are completed.
- Ensures that work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner, through the most cost-effective method.
- Ensures maintenance supplies and parts are on hand so that repairs can be made in a timely manner.
- Monitors work areas and tools.
- Ensures that work area is always clean and well-organized.
- Ensures that all equipment assigned to department is properly accounted for andmaintained in good condition.
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree from a two-year college or university required
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid state driver's license
- CPR/First Aid certifications
