Title: Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioner Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: WCINYP Nursing Work Days: Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: ExemptSalary Range: $145,800.00 - $156,600.00 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position SummaryIn collaboration with an attending physician is responsible for the coordination and direct care of patients within specialty area(s) and clinical protocols as needed. This role is also responsible for providing patient education.Job Responsibilities
- Provide Cardiothoracic protocoling support.
- Obtain missing clinical information necessary to perform cardiac imaging.
- Handle pre-visit communications relevant to the patient's clinical and cardiac history.
- Acts as the first point of contact for on-site issues and medication management.
- Acts as the point of contact for patient questions and concerns that cannot be answered by the Radiology Consult Service team or a Registered Nurse.
- Follow through on imaging results for patients without established cardiac care, support referral pathways as needed.
- As needed, provide support for MRI imaging with pacemakers and the Heart Health division.
Education
- Master's of Science Degree in Nursing
Experience
- Approximately 2 or more years of clinical experience as an NP in a physician practice or hospital setting, preferably within Cardiology.
- New graduates with related RN experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licenses and Certifications
- NYS Registered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license and current NP registration
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse license and current RN registration
- Applicable National Board Certification (such as ANCC, PNCB, etc)
- Current BLS (must be issued by American Heart Association)
- Infection Control Certificate
- Current Narcotics DEA registration certificate
