Job Overview: The Payroll Manager will oversee all payroll services for over 5,500 employees across the US and Canada, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processes. This role is critical to maintaining the smooth operation of payroll functions while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Payroll Manager will also lead a team of payroll analysts, fostering growth and development, and working closely with HR, finance, and operational leadership to optimize payroll solutions that minimize risk and support company profitability. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor the payroll team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely, accurate pay for employees while meeting service level agreements.
  • Monitor regulatory changes regarding wage and hour laws, sick leave, and other federal, state, and local requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Handle staffing decisions, including hiring, terminations, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement payroll processes that align with business objectives.
  • Foster a customer-oriented mindset focused on problem-solving and advocacy.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify solutions to payroll challenges and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and leadership to ensure payroll supports organizational goals.
Requirements Include: Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of finance experience focused on payroll, with at least 2 years of managing a team.
  • Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll processing and data analysis.
  • Experience with Workday is required.
Skills:
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions such as V-lookups and pivot tables.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for customer service and team development.
Additional Information: Work Environment: The Payroll Manager will work in an office setting. This is an in-person role with no travel requirements. Physical Requirements: The role involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 15 pounds may be required.
