DescriptionMUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHT SHIFT Responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
- Start machine and observe operation to detect malfunctions of machine
- Make minor adjustments or repairs such as adjusting wicket pins, eye adjustment for print cut off, vent position, and wicket holes
- Inspect filled cartons to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications
- Checks for quality characteristics and specifications as shown in training
- Shut off machine and report critical defects to set up mechanic, department supervisor/manager, quality manager such as open or weak seals, missing safety slits, vents not punching, blocked film, bad print, wicket holes not punching, large wrinkles and folding edges, tears, etc.
- Attempt to correct slight specification variances such as vent position and slightly uneven safety slits while keeping the machine running
- Check presets at the beginning of shift and with each new job
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of your position
- Work cooperatively with machine operators, department supervisors/managers, and any other co-workers to achieve mutual goals/objectives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pass pre-hire drug screening
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours and required overtime, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to read a measuring tape
- High school level mathematics
Working conditions:
- Frequent standing and walking during working hours.
- Frequent sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (8+ hours/day).
- Overtime may be required.
