Job Description: Job Summary: To inspect and report on the condition of incoming raw material, out-going shipments, material in process. Insure that in the general processing and handling of material and finished items, good quality methods are used to maintain a quality part in all areas.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Inspecting incoming parts and materials.
- Inspecting product using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality
- Checking that Engineering and Production adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
- Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
- Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
- Proposing improvements to the production process
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
- Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
- Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
- Verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly
- Stopping any job from shipment if they feel that the quality would be unacceptable to the customer
- Complete multiple tasks on a daily basis
- Conduct process audits throughout the facility by examining records, reports, operating practices and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Up to 3 years of experience in Quality Control function in manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL©
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
