Job Description :

The position is responsible for lifting or moving heavy materials as needed. The Press Feeder is in charge of completely setting up the press by keeping the press continuously running, placing ink in the fountains, preparing for sheet size and also color washing from one color to another. The Press Feeders overall job purpose consists of supplying materials and assistance to the Pressman as directed. Review work order or may receive verbal instructions to determine ink, stock and equipment needed for production. Assist press operator with press set up including hanging of plates and blankets on press cylinders using hand tools. Keep press supplied with paper stock of top quality. Pour ink into reservoirs of printing unit and maintains ink agitator. Remove loaded pallet of printed material from stacking mechanism using pallet jack and replace with empty pallet. Periodically may need to help with preventative maintenance duties. Pay close attention to small detail through out the process. Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
