Position: Design Team Assistant FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Full Time Pay Range: $21.05-$24.30 Zumiez Product & Brand Services The Zumiez Product & Brand Services team is responsible for 42+ unique brands spanning various categories, including men's and women's apparel, accessories, and snow/skate hard goods. Zumiez PBS Design Team is looking for a self-starter that plays a crucial role in assisting the Apparel Design Team throughout the design and development process. Our ideal candidate is an energetic team player that's able to follow direction, meet project timelines, remain flexible, consistent, and detail-oriented while thriving in a fast-paced environment. POSITION PURPOSE The Product & Brand Services Full-Time Design Team Assistant supports the Apparel Design & Merchandising Teams with design, development, and sample comments for a defined number of Zumiez private labels and licensed brands. Also responsible for assisting the Design team with various administrative duties. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with sample tracking, comments, and specifications
- Maintains seasonal color pallets and color cards
- Assist with building and maintaining seasonal product line plans
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic creative files
- Participates with completion and maintenance of Tech Packs and Bills of Materials
- Maintain creative catalog and visual sales reporting tools
- Build and support visual data tools. Inclusive to weekly visual data highlights and opportunities.
- Assist with meeting preparation and taking notes
- Adheres to project deadlines and expectations assigned by Manager
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and Product & Brand Services counterparts
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- AA / BA or equivalent course work in Apparel Design/Development preferred
- Contribute to the Zumiez culture of empowerment, competition, teaching, learning, recognition, fairness, honesty, and fun
- Able to give, receive, and apply constructive criticism
- Organized with the ability to multitask
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Experience working with an Apple workstation
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Remain detail-oriented while working in a fast-paced environment
- A balanced mix of creative and technical know-how
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to sit/stand in a stationary position in an office environment for extended periods and work on a Mac or PC without limitations.
