Applicants must be available to work in Miami- Thursday, with work from home on Friday.Position Summary: The Program Manager is a critical role within the RCI Product Development PMO team that is responsible for program management of strategic ship and land projects for Royal Caribbean International. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of initiatives and will be the single point to report out to Senior Executive-level leadership on the status of each track of work. You have expert skills in bringing team members together, facilitating large groups, wrangling disparate work tracks across multiple teams and pulling together Executive-level status. You thrive on big challenges and bring high energy and enthusiasm to make things happen and achieve results.Responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of a program and also for keeping a birds-eye view of the individual project operations while managing and mentoring assigned project managers. Consults with all project stakeholders (internal teams and contractors) to gather, analyze, and report data for recommended courses of action. Proactively strategize, lead, plan, and drive activities of the strategic projects to ensure project completion within prescribed time frame and budget. Function as an in-house process driver and enabler of a highly matrixed environment. Projects assigned are typically high priority, high profile, and multi-departmental initiatives for the organization and thus require continuous communication and interaction with the project team and department executives. Manage all aspects of project planning, tracking, and status reporting.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage a broad and complex program consisting of multiple projects of work in support of guest experiences on cruise ships and private island destinations.
  • Create and maintain the uber/overall program schedule collecting necessary data points from various project managers and team leads
  • Be hub of knowledge for the program portfolio and be able to articulate how and when various projects/tracks will deliver
  • Aid in the creation of portfolio level roadmaps that effectively summarize tracks of work, progress, and status for all levels of the organization
  • Supports the growth and mentorship of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers supporting his/her portfolio
  • Accountable for the day-to-day administrative and reporting details of assigned projects.
  • Oversees the delivery of project management methods through a team of professionals and provides adequate leadership to effectively manage the portfolio of projects.
  • Utilizes project management tools and industrial engineering techniques to lead and oversee the maintenance of a portfolio of projects.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project managers, modifies schedules or roadmaps as required.
  • Oversees the coordination of major activities (meetings, workshops, charrettes) to ensure project progresses on schedule and accurately reflects current project status through regular updates of tasks and statuses.
  • Tracks progress of owner supply specification, requisition and procurement. Works with Financial Department to track the owner supply budget, cost control and reporting.
  • Leads and organizes team in development of monthly presentations for senior executives. Oversees preparation of project reports related to fleet mod / land projects for management, client, or others.
  • Remains current with industry trends, especially as related to contemporary project management techniques as they impact project objectives.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to obtain information that is required
  • Leads, coaches, and advises the recommended course of action to the project team, and clients in outlining milestones, establishing work plans, responsibilities, scope and tracking routines.
  • Utilizes and trains others on project management tools and techniques to lead and oversee the maintenance of project scope, customer and executive expectations as well as overall project focus.
  • Supports decisions made by the PMO Director and takes timely independent actions in pursuit of program and project priorities.
  • Drives a culture of innovation, simplification and continuous improvement through best practice and research.
  • Lead and execute initiatives by developing presentations, recommendations, and planning/managing delivery.
  • Spearheads the identification of operational changes required to meet project deliverables
  • Champions implementation of processes created by program managers, providing reporting on compliance.
  • Ensures project information data (i.e. project status updates, schedule updates, cash flow forecasts) and project documentation into project management technology tools (software applications, web-based tools, job cost accounting tools).
  • Resolves escalated matters among the team.

Knowledge & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Administration with 7-10 years of work experience as Project Manager or similar position
  • Experience managing projects with annual budgets exceeding $15M
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading a small team of professionals.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills a must. Clear and precise communication at all levels of the organization essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strength in communicating in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
  • Strong ability to manage clients and partners.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Software proficiency in tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project required.
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, financial and spreadsheet modeling skills.
  • Energetic self-starter who can take initiative, figure things out and lead through influence rather than direct control
  • Leads through inquiry rather than advocacy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Product Development, Project Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • PMP Certified
  • Change Management experience in a global organization
  • Scheduling
  • Exposure to Data Visualization tools is a plus
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with Smartsheet platform a plus
  • BI Analytics & Data Visualization Experience is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with process and industry methodologies for Project management, KPI development, Process Improvement, & Change Management
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to clarify ambiguous situations and/or processes

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Internal Candidates: Knowledge of CAR process: budget, approval, reconciliation, and reporting, AMOS, JDE, and Essbase/Smartview.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, business periodicals, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
