The Technical Services Division is responsible for commissioning new substations, performing maintenance and testing of existing substation equipment as well as servicing a wide range of power electric distribution equipment for utility, industrial, and public partners.Responsibilities:This position will include performing various functions including, but are not limited to, the following:Under the direction of a lead electrical engineer:Prepare electrical studies including coordination studies, short-circuit studies, Arc flash studiesEvaluate power quality data and prepare reports for sameDesign the Protection and Control Schemes for DER interconnects.Assist with the Design for Electrical ConstructionSupport of Testing and Commissioning:Review construction drawings to develop commissioning and test plansPrepare construction sequencing plansPrepare construction and testing schedulesParticipate in field testing and trouble shootingReview field testingPrepare energization plansUpdate construction drawings to as-built conditionsProfessional Development:Attend professional development training and training courses as necessary for performing job tasks.Travel:This position will require travel to customer sites as needed. Candidate must be comfortable navigating construction job sites with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in all weather conditions. Education:BSEE or BSET from an ABET accredited schoolCompensationThe minimum and maximum annual salary that O'Connell Electric Company believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is $70,000 - $80,000 per year.It is important to O'Connell Electric that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate.
