We are currently seeking Caregivers for our newly created TRAIL program. TRAIL stands for Timber Ridge Assistance in Living. It is a newly licensed Home Care Agency. Who you are:
* Minimum of one (1) year of employment experience as a home care aid or a personal care aide with a Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or a Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) certification.
* First Aid & CPR Certified
* Food Handlers Certified
* DSHS Dementia and Mental Health certified
* Fluent in both verbal and written English
* Professional and high ethical standards
* Communicates effectively and creates positive relationships
General Summary:
The TRAIL Caregivers provide personal care and household assistance to clients in their own residence. The clients work under the supervision of the Administrator, Home Care Supervisor, or designee and is assigned specific tasks through the home care plan of care.
Essential Job Duties:
* Follows the home care plan of care developed by the agency.
* Assists clients with personal care, which may include bathing, shampooing, shaving, toileting, dressing, transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
* Performs household services essential to the client's safety and care including laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation, and shopping.
* Performs only the tasks assigned in the home care plan of care for clients and observes, documents, and reports any changes in the clients' condition. May assist with medications as indicated in the home care plan of care, and agency policy.
* Reports to the Administrator or designee any changes in the clients mental or physical condition as well as changes in the client's need for care.
* Follows agencies policies and procedures.
* Respects the rights of clients, families, or client representatives to have different beliefs, opinions, cultures, and customs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Walking to and from and withing the office
* Walking within the client's home or residence.
* Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
* Have good physical health, free from health problems that may be injurious to client, self and other coworkers.
* Ability to perform all aspects of the job description with or without reasonable accommodations.
* Able to speak and hear (or otherwise adequately communicate) with residents, residents' families, staff, contracted providers of services and the community in general.
* Exposure to inside and outside environmental conditions, including blood borne pathogens.
* Physical ability to with stand hours of duty that may be long and irregular.
* Ability to safely transfer clients with ambulation within residence, facility and outside of the facility.
