Our Sales Representatives are responsible for the Total Territory sales of research products and services within a defined territory. This territory is located in New Haven, CT and covers Yale University, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and several small to mid-sized Biotech accounts in the greater New Haven, CT area. They maintain effective customer relations, develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. A Day in the Life:

* This position is a Team Leader role, who is responsible for driving the strategic and tactical annual territory plans as being the main point of contact for the overall Territory and working, training, mentoring, and partnering with the Sales teammate, who is also assigned to this specific Territory.

* Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end-users within assigned territory, specifically at Yale, Alexion, and Biolabs on a daily/weekly basis.

* Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory

* Stay updated on competitor and industry activity, incorporating this information into the business plan. Introduce new products and services.

* Effectively work with their teammate assigned to the same territory, in a manner in which both Sales Representatives work collaboratively together and independently on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

* Manage pricing within territory to control profitability

* Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for effective management of territory

* Communicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by manager

* Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

Keys to Success

Education:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in the sciences

Experience:

* 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills

* Computer proficiency in MS Office, Sales Force, and the internet

* Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed

* Able and willing to travel to customer locations

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $52,600.00-$78,850.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
