DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, prepare unit-dose packaging and labeling, and transfer weekly medication carts. You will also maintain pharmaceutical supplies, monitor drug inventory, and manage a filing system. This position requires accuracy, as you will identify medications, evaluate discontinued or outdated stock, and place orders with pharmaceutical vendors.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

* Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may change based on operational needs.

* Overtime as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

* One year of experience assisting a licensed pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications in a hospital pharmacy; or

* An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

* You must be able to perform essential job functions.

* A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

* This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
