This is a great opportunity to apply your existing skills and knowledge and join a growing outpatient Radiology practice.The responsibilities of the Medical Records Clerk include, but are not limited to:
- Manages incoming requests for medical records in both paper and electronic format, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to laws, regulations and company policies at all times;
- Facilitates retrieval of radiology reports for review by authorized individuals, inclusive of faxing & electronic transmission of reports;
- Maintains accurate and quality medical record files in proper sequence according to company policies and procedures;
- Accesses PACS and identifies patients' studies; prints images, or burns CD from PACS;
- Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patient's records; always assures Patient Confidentiality;
- Always maintains HIPAA standards;
- Establishes and maintains open communication with other AMI departments and offices;
- Answers the telephones including using the available options of the telephone system and taking/relaying accurate messages immediately/efficiently.
- Retrieves voicemail messages and rerouting of phone lines (as assigned);
- Provides support and back-up to the Scheduling Department as a Scheduler in the Call Center as needed;
- Communicates with patients and callers, both in-person and through telephone calls, to gather and obtain information relating to exam including insurance information, referrals, and prescriptions;
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The position is based in AMI's Corporate office location in West Atlantic City/Pleasantville, NJ with a work schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.QualificationsEligible candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical Records experience is required for this position. Candidates must also have a basic knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with medical software and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required; Fuji RIS experience a plus. Candidates must have strong computer skills and are proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates must demonstrate strong customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication with an exceptional telephone presence.
