Job Summary:The Retail Associate will be the first and last point of contact with museum patrons. They will be responsible for supplying excellent customer service, showcasing extensive knowledge of the punk rock culture, and providing an unforgettable experience to everyone that comes to the museum. The Retail Associate oversees the point-of-sale (POS) of merchandise and museum tickets. This position will handle cash, merchandising, cleaning, restocking, loss prevention, and inventory control. The Retail Associate will be expected to assist in special projects including pop-ups, charity events, giveaways, and more.Duties and Responsibilities: Welcome guests to the museum, answer questions and sell tickets for entry. Maintain visual standards, replenish merchandise, process shipments, and keep the Punk Shop clean throughout the day. Gain extensive product knowledge to fulfill customer needs and meet sales goals. Partner with MOD's and security to control crowds and maintain capacity. Process sales, returns, and exchanges through the POS system. Field customer service calls to provide excellent customer service and process mail orders. Assist the Operations Manager with packing and shipping mail orders. Assist the Operations Manager with cycle counts and inventory control processes and procedures. Assist the Operations Manager with opening and closing the store. Maintain keen awareness and application of loss prevention techniques. Report emergencies. Work with the retail team to provide a fun, memorable experience for our guests. Work offsite events and pop-ups that may be indoors or outdoors. Assisting in maintaining, organizing, and pulling replenishment from offsite storage. Comply with all OSHA and ADA requirements.Required Education and Experience: Must be nineteen (19) years or older. Must possess extensive knowledge of Punk Rock music and culture. Must demonstrate an outgoing and welcoming personality. At least one (1) year of retail or customer service experience. Ability to be punctual. Possess great time management skills. Ability to pass a background check. Basic math skills, including the ability to give accurate change.Preferred Education and Experience: Prior retail sales or customer service experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
