2nd Shift - Controls Technician to our maintenance team. As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, testing, calibrating, operating, and repairing control systems along with their related hardware, software, and equipment for all within the facility.
What you'll do: - Support the safe and efficient production of our tapes by responding to machine breakdowns and faults, implementing improvements, and maintaining equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment including, but not limited to PLCs, sensors, power supplies, drives and monitoring equipment.
- Regularly supports mechanical maintenance activities.
- Continuous improvement of automation processes and equipment utilization, OEE, and downtime reduction.
- Plan and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
- Advise operators and technicians of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic equipment and components.
- Complete preventative maintenance schedules, repairs, and audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need: - High school diploma or GED. An associate degree from an accredited community college or vocational school preferred. Job-related experience and/or training considered in lieu of post-secondary education.
- 2 years of experience in as a controls technician plus 5 years as a maintenance technician
- Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix, Studio5000, Allen Bradley Platform.)
- Ability to develop and modify HMIs for equipment using Panel View
- Experience in control electrical system wiring and rewiring for field changes.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety circuit wiring principles and best practices
- Experience with electrical maintenance, repairs, replacements, and upgrades of electrical systems for apparatus, buildings, machinery, and equipment.
- Strong background of machine repair and fabricating.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team concept.
- Excellent record of customer service with production staff
