  • Position: Diesel Technician
  • Status: Full-time

  • FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Salary Range: $17-45 per hour based on experience

Who we are looking for:
  • Diesel Technicians of all experience levels
  • Day, afternoon & evening shifts are available at most locations
Position Requirements: will vary on the level of experience and be discussed at the interview
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurability standards.
Position Preferences:
  • Vocational technical school training or equivalent experience
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification preferred
Essential Duties:
  • Function as a service technician who can perform minor repairs without supervision.
  • Perform work as outlined on minor repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards.
  • Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and performs the repair, as directed by a supervisor.
  • Assist other technicians with major repairs.
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Examine the assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Document all required information for the successful completion of a warranty claim.
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
