Salary/Hourly Rate:$55k - $65k Position Overview:As a Product Development Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of our apparel products. Working closely with various teams including design, production, and merchandising, you will be responsible for coordinating the entire product development process from concept to production. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the fashion industry. Responsibilities of the Product Development Assistant:
- Collaborate with the design team to develop product concepts that align with the company's vision and brand identity.
- Coordinate the sample development process, including sourcing materials, communicating with vendors, and ensuring samples meet quality standards.
- Manage timelines and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of samples and products.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams to provide updates on product development status and address any issues or concerns.
- Conduct product fittings and participate in garment review meetings to ensure fit and quality meet company standards.
- Assist in cost negotiations with vendors to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality.
- Maintain accurate product development records and documentation.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and innovations to contribute to the continuous improvement of product development processes.
Qualifications for the Product Development Assistant:
- 1 - 2 years of experience in product development within the apparel industry.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with product lifecycle management software (PLM) is preferred, AS400, or Blue Chery.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field is required.
