CACI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support our Mastodon Design team in Rochester, NY. We are currently seeking a senior embedded software engineer with a background working with embedded processors and operating systems. We specialize in designing and building hardware and software to meet our customers' next requirement. We focus on offering devices that can be fielded immediately to meet the mission needs that lie directly ahead. Size, weight, power, and packaging are of paramount importance in everything we design and build. Our expertise allows us to rapidly provide these solutions in specialized electronic/mechanical design, embedded & application level software, reverse engineering & protocol analysis, and RF signals exploitation and communications systems.

This is a full time opportunity with the potential for up to 3 days of Hybrid work - candidate must be local to the Rochester area.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of real-time embedded systems

  • Work with other senior software and hardware engineers to design and develop new software features for our products

  • Work with Engineering Management, Product Line Management, and Program Management to ensure deliverables meet requirements

  • Support Field Service Engineers and Customers to aid in the debug of issues found in the field

  • Mentor junior staff on best practices for software development

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of development experience with a focus on embedded platforms.

  • Embedded programming experience in C, C++ (>= '11) and Python

  • Strong Experience developing a variety of applications on real -time, multi-threaded embedded systems

  • Signal processing and wireless protocols

  • Ability to work with electrical/hardware engineers to produce integrated products and solutions

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (US Citizenship Required) and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Desired:

  • Knowledge and experience using Poky and Yocto tools

  • Designing and implementing device drivers, firmware, bootloaders, and embedded communications

  • Knowledge and experience with communications protocols to include USB, Bluetooth and various wired and wireless networking protocols and infrastructure

  • Implementation of security features and encryption on embedded devices and over communications channels

  • DSP, FPGA and other high-performance embedded computing

  • Reverse engineering of hardware, decompiling/disassembly of embedded code, and protocol analysis

  • Linux environment development on ARMs, Zynq, and Texas Instruments platforms

  • Linux driver support and development at the embedded level

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$74,600-$156,700
