We're looking for YOU, our next Admissions Coordinator:Job Summary The Admissions Coordinator will collaborate and partner with the assessment team to assist in the admission and referral process for clients applying to short-term, long-term or outpatient treatment services. This position is the first point of contact with applicants, following a client referral, ensuring the appropriate recommendation is being made while providing a positive client experience. Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:
  • Following a client referral, coordinate the application process for all clients applying to treatment services.
  • Ensure the appropriate recommendations are being made for applicant referrals.
  • Assist and coordinate the application review process for clients with legal, mental health or medical concerns that need to be resolved before the intake process begins. Follow up on any required paperwork through county, courts, etc. as needed.
  • Stay in regular communication with clients throughout the entire application review process.
  • Clearly document every interaction with clients.
  • Provide a positive client experience to incoming referrals.
  • Manage crisis situations, as they arise.
  • Handle a client caseload of approximately 100 referrals.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of relative experience in a customer focused role in a professional setting. Previous experience with mental health and/or addiction preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
  • Must be comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges, including mental health and addiction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, and leadership.
  • The ability to live and work by MnTC's culture of honor & core values - practicing compassion, honor, respect, integrity, servanthood, and trust.
  • Must complete DHS background check and be cleared to work in human service programs.
  • Must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11 (including understanding of client rights). Reference: 245G.11 MN Statutes
