JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Tech is responsible for providing and managing technical and quality resources to ensure that products meet all code and consistency requirements. The success of this job will be measured by operational excellence in quality systems, quality improvements, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Comply with Westlake's Safety Policies and Procedures

* Reports all injuries to respective supervisor(s)

* Performs general housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe work area

* Attends company sponsored training when necessary

* Ensure a uniform view of our quality associates, systems, and processes

* Ensure the quality processes are effectively developed, implemented, and executed to guarantee that our products and services meet customer requirements/needs

* Collect, organize, and monitor any information or data related to the functions of the quality department

* Report and address quality deviations to ensure containment and correction

* Perform material audits for incoming and WIP production material to ensure conformance and compliance

* Ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Quality Management System

* Implementing quality processes to support the development of emerging businesses

* Assists in training production employees to detect unsatisfactory quality

* Ensures QC metrics and product audits are performed and documented daily, meeting and/or exceeding QC standards

* Works with production supervisors to ensure processes and products meet QC standards while minimizing waste and downtime

* Driving continuous improvement locally, in alignment with corporate team practices and processes

* Communicating daily, weekly, and monthly quality KPI's

* Responsible for following/enforcing standard operating procedures pertaining to quality

* Performs other duties as assigned or needed

* Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

* Attention to detail and accuracy

* Must be able to read and write in English and Spanish

* Adjust to and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals, or groups

* Root Cause Analysis investigation and critical thinking skills

* Recognize problems, respond using various quality tools and address quality issues

* Ability to receive and carry out instructions given by management

* Demonstrated traits of honesty and integrity and ability to maintain confidential information

* Ability to track process information as needed

* Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office suite

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

* High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade

* 2 or more years' experience in a quality and manufacturing environments

* Bilingual English/Spanish

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

* Prolong standing or in stationary position

* Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

* Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out

* Complete repetitive movements

* Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, and hardhat protection) and steel toed boots

* Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds

* Ability to travel to other facilities

* Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
