Job Summary: Engineering and technical support to Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic for the USCG Integrated Product Team (IPT). This support primarily includes the engineering, integration, and technical services required to outfit Coast Guard cutters with C5I systems. Additionally, support includes integration and technical support for standalone shipboard systems. Scope of work includes program, engineering, technical, drafting, training, logistics, procurement, intelligence and operations support services for designated C5I systems onboard National Security Cutter (NSC), Polar Security Cutter (PSC), Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), Fast Response Cutter (FRC), Medium Endurance Cutters (WMEC), and other afloat, mobile and shore platforms.
Requirements:
* Secret Clearance required
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* Two (2) years of experience, to include: logistics support for projects involving electronic/electrical repair and installation, ordering, acquisition, distribution of material, equipment, and resources; compiling and recording production data for government command to compare records regarding volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production.
Essential Duties:
* Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
* Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
* Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
* Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
* Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
* Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
* Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
* Plan production commitments or timetables for business units, specific programs, or jobs, using sales forecasts.
* Compile information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, or customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
* Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
* Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences, transportation, personnel schedules, or purchase, maintenance, or repair orders.
* Calculate figures, such as required amounts of labor or materials, manufacturing costs, or wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators, or computers.
* Performing any combination of the following duties: compiling and recording production data from such documents as customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets, following prescribed recording procedures.
* Calculating types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, worker and department production rates.
* Writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats.
* Maintaining files of documents used and prepared.
* Compiling production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products.
* Preparing schedules based on established guidelines and priorities.
* Compiling material inventory records and preparing requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies.
* Charting production using charts, graphs, or pegboards, based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel.
* Sorting and distributing work tickets or material to workers.
* Computing wages from employee timecards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Technical expertise in relevant systems, methodologies, and tools applicable to the industry
* Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful completion of projects
* Ability to analyze complex issues, develop creative solutions, and apply sound judgment to resolve challenges
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral, for effectively conveying information to stakeholders and team members, including report writing and presentations
* Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, processes, and deliverables while adhering to industry standards and best practices
* Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and industry requirements
